I have the honour to transmit for your

information the enclosed copies of the Report by the Examiners

on the Annual Examination of Queen's College. The report

reveals the necessity of giving Chinese boys a sound education

in their own language and literature as well as in those of

Western Countries, and shows also that memorising is still

looked upon by the average boy as the best road to success.

The Governing Body, after consideration

of this Report, requested the Inspector of Schools and Dr. -
